Our shutters are finished using a water based paint that is kinder to the environmentt that other paints. It is enhanced with a UV protector and this protects your shutters from any noticeable yellowing, fading or colour change over the life of your shutters.

We provide the full service design, measure and fit as that's what most of our clients want but, if you would like to save the cost of installation, we're happy to supply only too! We don't recommend trying to measure or fit a bay window or special shape yourself as these are extremely complicated. You can measure and fit Buzzard Shutters yourself. However, if your shutters don't fit correctly, we cannot accept any responsibility for this. We offer a wide range of whites, neutrals and deeper colours including a number of grey tones as standard across all shutter types. In addition, we have wood stains available including bang on trend, open grains for our hardwood shutters. If you want your shutters painted a specific colour, we can colour match pretty much any colour in the world for you and yes, we can and have, painted them pink in the past. We have a highly advanced paint system that allows us to paint all shutters, even uPVC ones so that your whole house matches.

There are two parts to this answer really: When the louvres are open The basic rule of thumb is, the wider the louvre, the more light your shutters will allow in when they are open. There will be a slight reduction of light but roughly speaking, much less than if you had net curtains at the window. When the louvres are closed While your shutters will vastly reduce the light levels when closed, they are not blackout. You can expect to reduce light levels by something over 80% with standard louvres BUT our flat URBAN louvre increases this to over 95%, Wondeful for night workers, an afternoon nap or those with high light sensitivity If it's important to you to have your room really dark, for example, so that people working nights can sleep more easily during the day, then we have a blackout shutter frame and blackout blind options available.

Wherever and whenever possible, we avoid fixing to your window frames. We prefer to fix to solid or plasterboard walls using tried and tested fixings, In this way, we preserve any window wartranty you have.

We have to pay for your shutters in full when we order them and so, we ask for a deposit of about 80% followed by the balance on fitting day itself. Standard delivery of your shutters to our warehouse is included in the price you pay us, this takes about ten to twelve weeks from survey or payment, whichever is the later. If you need your shutters faster, we offer an enhanced delivery service, at extra cost, which takes about six weeks from survey or payment. If you arrange your own fitting, you will need to collect your order from our warehouse in Leighton Buzzard. If we are fitting for you, we'll bring them with us on fitting day

Our standard delivery time, which is free of charge, is ten weeks from survey or payment - whichever is the latest. However, we know that some customers need their shutters faster and so we offer an enhanced delivery in just six weeks, that's the fastest in the UK. This enhanced delivery service carries an additional 15% of your order total as a premium.

You'llo have peace of mind for a full FIVE years with our hardwood or uPVC shutters while our composite shutters are guaranteed for TEN years!! Our warranty against all manufacturing faults is provided by the importer and starts on the day your shutters are delivered to us. We'll repair or replace defective goods free of charge (always providing that the shutters have not been subject to any misuse or modification).
